Terms of Service

Last updated: 22 September 2026

1. Agreement to terms

By engaging Second Call ("we," "us," "our") for services, you ("client," "you") agree to these Terms of Service. If you do not agree, do not use our services.

2. Description of services

Second Call provides written content for service businesses. A standard monthly engagement consists of 4 original articles, researched, written, optimised for search and published to your website, together with a monthly report of the results attributable to that content.

Any work outside that scope — additional articles, other content formats, advertising, website development or link acquisition — is not included and will be quoted separately in writing before it is carried out.

3. What we deliver, and what we do not promise

We commit to the work: 4 articles per month, written to the standard described on our website, published on schedule, with a report each month.

We do not guarantee search rankings, traffic volumes, enquiry counts or revenue. Search engines are operated by third parties whose ranking systems change without notice and are outside our control. Any figures shown on our website or discussed in a consultation are illustrative, not a forecast and not a promise.

We do not engage in paid link schemes, link exchanges, private blog networks or any other practice that violates search engine guidelines, including where a client requests it.

4. Your responsibilities

To allow us to deliver, you agree to:

  • Provide accurate information about your services, pricing, licences, warranties and service area, and tell us when those change.
  • Provide access to publish on your website, or arrange for whoever controls it to do so.
  • Review drafts within a reasonable period, normally five business days, and tell us about anything factually wrong about your business.
  • Hold all licences, registrations and insurance required to offer the services described in the content we write for you.

Where you do not provide access or feedback within a reasonable period, we may publish the articles as drafted or hold them until access is available. Fees remain payable in either case.

5. Accuracy and approval

We research and fact-check the content we write, including claims relating to treatments, products and safety. You remain responsible for the final accuracy of anything published on your website under your name, including whether a statement complies with your licence and with pesticide labelling and applicator regulations in your jurisdiction.

Content is sent to you before publication for exactly this reason. Once you approve an article, or where you do not respond within a reasonable review period, publication proceeds. We will correct any factual error promptly at no charge once it is brought to our attention.

6. Ownership of the content

You own the articles. On payment of the invoice covering them, all rights in the articles we write for you transfer to you permanently and irrevocably, including after this agreement ends.

Nothing is taken down, revoked or held back if you cancel. You may edit, republish, repurpose or delete anything we have written for you without further permission from us and without owing us anything further.

We retain ownership of our own internal templates, checklists and working methods, none of which form part of what is published on your website.

7. Website access

Where you grant us access to your website, we will use it only to publish and format the content covered by this agreement, and we will use the lowest level of access sufficient to do so.

We are not responsible for your website hosting, security, uptime, backups, plugins or platform, or for any loss arising from the condition of the website itself. We strongly recommend you maintain your own backups.

8. Fees and payment

The monthly fee is $1,200 unless otherwise agreed in writing in your service order. There is no setup fee.

The first month is payable before work begins, and each subsequent month is payable in advance on the same day of the month. Invoices are issued by email and are due on receipt.

Fees already paid cover work already delivered and are non-refundable, except where we have failed to deliver the agreed work or as required by law. Where an invoice remains unpaid for 14 days we may pause delivery until it is settled.

9. Term and cancellation

Services are provided month to month. Either party may cancel at any time by giving 30 days’ written notice, by email or in writing. There is no minimum term, no cancellation fee and no penalty.

During the notice period we continue to deliver, and you continue to pay, as normal. Everything published up to the final day stays on your website and belongs to you.

10. Exclusivity

We work with one client per service area. While this agreement is in effect we will not take on a directly competing pest control company covering substantially the same area. This obligation ends when the agreement ends.

11. Confidentiality

We treat your pricing, customer information, business plans and anything else non-public that you share with us as confidential, and use it solely to perform the services described here. See our Privacy Policy for how information is handled.

We may refer to you as a client and link to published work, unless you ask us in writing not to.

12. Limitation of liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, Second Call’s total liability for any claim arising from these services is limited to the fees paid by you in the three months preceding the claim.

Neither party is liable for indirect, incidental or consequential losses, including lost profits or lost business, however caused.

13. Termination for cause

We may suspend or terminate services immediately if these terms are breached, including where we are asked to publish content we believe to be false, unlawful, or in breach of search engine guidelines or applicable advertising, licensing or pesticide regulations.

14. Changes to these terms

We may update these terms. Where a change materially affects an existing client, we will give at least 30 days’ notice by email before it takes effect, and you may cancel within that period if you do not accept it.

15. Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of the State of Minnesota, without regard to conflict of law principles.

16. Contact
